- WILL TICKETS BE AVAILABLE AT THE GATE?
Yes, if the event is not sold out, tickets will be available at the gate.
- WHAT DOES MY TICKET INCLUDE?
Your ticket includes, a Souvenir Wine Tasting Glass & Lanyard, Event Program, Food and Beverage Sampling (Tasting plates & Beverages available for purchase), Live Entertainment, Cooking Demonstrations, Wine appreciation Sessions, Gourmet Food, Beverage & Cottage Industry Exhibitors.
Complementary carry bags will be available at the festival office at the Jockey Club.
- DO I HAVE TO PRINT MY TICKET?
If you have bought tickets online, you can show the barcode and ticket on your phone. We would prefer if you brought a printed copy of your ticket to the entry gate.
- I CAN’T FIND MY TICKET ON MY EMAIL. CAN IT BE RE-SENT?
Yes, your ticket can be resent. Please email email@example.com
- IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A REFUND?
All requests for refunds must be made in writing and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Special circumstances may be reviewed on a case by case basis. Refunds are at the discretion of the Ballina Food & Wine Festival Committee.
This is an all-weather event, however in case of cyclonic weather this event will be postponed.
There will be ATMs on site, we also recommend bringing some cash.
- CAN I USE CREDIT CARDS AND EFTPOS?
EFTPOS will be available at the entry gate to purchase tickets.
Some of the exhibitors will have facilities for EFTPOS and Credit cards. ATM’s will be available at the festival.
There will be an abundance of food available on site for sampling and purchase. Tasting plates will be available, which are usually priced between $5-$10.
Ballina Food & Wine Festival is strictly no BYO alcohol. The event is fully licensed. Small samples of alcoholic beverages will be available for tasting. Glasses and bottles will be available for purchase to enjoy on the day. Bottles of wine, beer, cider and spirits will be available for purchase which may be taken off site and enjoyed at home.
Soft drinks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
Bottled water will be provided free of charge at various water stations at the festival.
This is an 18+ event. Photo ID is essential. You must have a valid proof of age photo ID to gain entry into the Ballina Food & Wine Festival on Sunday 20th October 2019. All children under 18 not permitted including small children.
Babies (under 12 months) that can be carried or in a stroller/pram are permitted. The festival is held on all three levels of the Jockey Club plus under marquees on the ground which is difficult to manoeuvre strollers and prams particularly with the number of people who attend, with many areas crowded. The well being of your baby is our main priority so make sure you are prepared.
- WHAT TIME DOES THE EVENT START?
The gates will open at 11am and concludes at 6pm.
- HOW TO GET TO THE FESTIVAL
There is plenty of parking available at the festival site. Parking personal will be onsite to direct you.
Taxis and hire cars are available in Ballina and the surrounding areas.
The best way to get to the festival is by bus. Bus tickets are only $5 return. Pre purchase your ticket to ensure your seat on the bus.
Buses will be running from various locations around the region from Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, Bangalow, Lismore, Goonellabah, Wollongbar, Alstonville, Lennox Head and Ballina. Please check the bus schedule HERE
- DISABLED ACCESS
We will do our best to accommodate disabled persons at the event.
Please be aware that the festival is held over 3 floors of the Jockey Club and in marquees which may have uneven, grassy areas.
The Festival at the Ballina Jockey Club is wheelchair accessible. There is a lift available for use. There is a disabled toilet on the top level of the Jockey Club. Large marquees on the grass will also house exhibitors, cooking and entertainment events.
The festival is held in the Ballina Jockey Club and marquees outside. The Jockey Club is a multi-level building. Due to the large number of people on site, the use of a mobility scooter is not recommended. The Jockey Club lift is not large enough to accommodate a mobility scooter, so access to various areas will be limited. Using a mobility scooter would be challenging as some areas are not assessable by a scooter. The use of scooters is not advisable.
DISABLED ACCESS CAR PARKING
Disabled parking is clearly marked. Disabled parking will be available near the entrance gate at the Jockey Club on the right hand side.
No animals permitted into the venue with the exception of seeing eye and assistance dogs.
- IF I MAKE PURCHASES TO TAKE HOME, IS THERE SOMEWHERE I CAN STORE THEM?
Yes. Items that do not need to be kept cold, can be stored at the festival office. Items must be collected before 6pm.
