Comments about the 2016 Festival Events

We attended the main event on Sunday at the Ballina Turf Club and can say we had an excellent time. Everything was really well organised even the bus picking us up and dropping us back to Wollongbar, we could both enjoy a drink together without the worrying of driving. The food and all the stalls at the course were excellent and the entertainment really really good. Was so nice to be part of it and it was a great atmosphere. Ian & Deborah, Wollongbar
My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our bus tour. We found the places we visited very interesting and we were pleased that, even at our great age, we still learnt new things! Many thanks, Merle
We attended this year's Ballina Fine Wine and Food Festival on the Sunday with a group of friends, after attending last year and enjoying it very much. Again we thoroughly enjoyed the event, there was a great variety of food to eat and beers and wines to taste. The additional tents and seating outside added to the amenity and whilst there was a huge crowd, it was still easy to get around and look at everything. What a great Ballina event, well done to Rotary Club of Ballina-on-Richmond for organising the event. We very much hope you continue to gather the sponsorship and support needed to continue to host this wonderful event. Regards Sharon and Rod, Ballina
I attended the main event on Sunday with a friend. I booked a bus ticket. Thought the layout and entertainment were top notch. Didn't make it into any of the tent demonstrations but as this is my first time - it will definitely not be my last, so hopefully next time. Cheers Sue
I attended the festival on the Sunday which I thought was the best to date. There was an excellent array of food, wine and beers. I thought the vendors put a lot of effort into their stall displays. A well run day. Yours faithfully, Peter
Just wanted to say congrats on a great festival. Everyone I have spoken to has said what a great day it was, well done! Cheers, Alicia
Great weekend at the BFWFF. Unbelievable job, I just don’t think many in the community understand what a monumental task is involved in putting the weekend of events together. Bill
We had a great time at the festival again. We just went on the Sunday, driving down from the Gold Coast. We just happened to be in Brunswick for the weekend last year and happened onto the festival, 4 of us went. This year the same 4 went back but we brought another 4 with us and all said they would be back next year. Thanks Peter
Quick note to say thanks heeeeeeeeeaps for all the work you and your team put in to pull together a truly fantastic event. I must say, I was completely blown away by how big the food festival was, I can't even imagine how much effort and hours was put in by you and your fellow volunteers. I hope you all managed to raise a glass or two to toast your success on Sunday evening. Looking forward to next years festival already. Thanks for inviting me to play a small part in a awesome event. Cheers, Terase, Byron Bay
Wonderful community event that showcases this wonderful region which we all play a part in giving back to the community in some way. Stay safe enjoy life and I’ll see you all next year. Warmest, Gavin x
A great day for us and everyone else we spoke with. An absolute standout for this festival is the work of the Rotarians helping us to get in, spend the day and get out. As well as the support you get from the locals [business & community], it is the Rotarians that make the difference. Very well run event, your members put an incredible amount of energy into the festival making sure everyone is attended to. I have always felt very welcome and have enjoyed attending the last 3 years. I look forward to being a part of the festival again. This was our first year exhibiting at the festival and were beyond impressed with the organisation of the festival, the enthusiasm of volunteers and turnout. we felt incredibly welcomed as newcomers and found this a great event to increase business exposure to the wider community. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
The concept of the Ballina Food and Wine Festival is fantastic local initiative with an excellent vibe – What better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon than at the Ballina Race Track with local restaurants and producers providing food platters, craft beer, spirits and wines – all available for sampling and for purchase. And the ability to catch a bus to and from town at minimal cost is a huge bonus. This has been complemented in recent years with the addition of live entertainment of an International quality. The atmosphere is magical with the festival packing out with many locals and visitors to the area. It is a great way to meet up with old faces and meet new acquaintances. This is a must date on everyone’s yearly calendar! Ian - Ballina
